September's Nail Polish Haul

Okay this month I may have gone a little crazy, but I couldn't help it when things are reduced to crazy prices, I just can't resist a bargain. Claire's have changed the shape of their nail polish bottles and I was lucky enough to go into the store when they were selling off all the old bottles, I pretty much grabbed one of every shade much to the amusement of the staff, I think they thought I was a little crazy, but I was super happy with my haul, especially as I got lots I'd had my eye on for a while.

I also got my first Colour Club polishes this month, one set was in the wrong packaging but I figured out the real name thanks to Google. Other exciting additions to my collection include my first A England and Gosh's Holographic Hero, I can't wait to see if it's any where near as amazing as Holographic.

Anyway, enough yapping, here's the photos...

Claire's old style bottles- Gold & Pink Holographic, Cream, Blue & Pink Sprinkles Glitter, Beige, Black Dark Red & Red Leather Effect, Silver, Beige & Green Glitter Sand, Light Blue & Dark Blue Denim Effect, Pink Glitter & Blue Crackle, five Duochromes, twenty two different glitters, six shimmers, and three cremes
Claire's new style bottles - Glitter Black/White, HG Blue Glitter, Velour, Fabulous

Rimmel Lycra Pro - Blue Vogue, Navy Seal, Stormy Skies, Sage Green, Coral Romance, Chic Cherry, Little Brown Dress

Technic - Carnival

Before we start, I have to apologise for the dreadful photos, no direct light coming into my house and the dreadful weather have reduced me to photographing swatches using artifical light and I'm not very good at doing that yet.

I love a bargain, I hate having to pay more than £4 for a polish, I've been spoiled by pound shops offering Revlon and Sally Hansens to me for a quid, I adore the polishes I find and weirdly I love them more because they were a bargain.

So with my love of a bargain I couldn't say no to buying a bottle of Technic's Carnival for a £1, I mean how could I say no to a bottle of multicoloured glitter that's a little bit like a few famous polishes with the same type of glitter? I know with more expensive brands you get a better base coat that dries quicker etc, but I can forgive a long drying time in exchange for a beautiful cheap polish, and that's exactly what Technic Carnival is, it's just beautiful.

Here's some not very good photos of it over white.

Something a little fishy.. Technic Mermaid Glitter

Today I have one of my favorite layering combo's that I've done lately. I was just swatching this, but I loved it so much I decided it deserved to be a full manicure, now of course I don't want to take it off!

Here's a bottle shot of one of my favorite glitters that I used for this.

Technic - Mermaid
Revlon - Black Star & Technic - Mermaid

I got Revlon Black Star from the pound shop, it's a Top Speed polish so dry's pretty quick, it says on the label to just apply one coat and it'll dry in 60 seconds, but I think their lying about that, I just two coats and it dried to the touch in a couple in minutes. I forgot to take a photo of this on it's own, but I can say that it's a nice glossy black with a subtle silver shimmer, it was also a lot less harsh looking than a staight black creme, so if I ever want to wear a black polish on it's on this'll be the one I use.

May Nail Polish Haul

I had another trip into town to see what bargains there were in the pound shops, and managed to get a few nice polishes, here's my haul photos. :-)
Revlon - Blackberry, Black Star, Valentine
Revlon - Cherry Chrush, Black Lingerie, Devilish
Technic - Bedazzled, Party Pink, Mermaid
Well I ended up with a lot of red polishes, which is unusal for me, but I can't resist when a polish is just £1! Out of all of these I'm really looking forward to trying out Technic's Mermaid, it's an amazing glitter polish and I might have to get a back up of it.

Have you found any bargains lately?

Cheerio,

Heather. :-)
