Snap Crackle and Pop! James - She's A Star

I've decided that on wednesdays I'm going to do Snap Crackle and Pop! posts, it's just an excuse for me to share my sometimes dreadful music taste with you, I love reading about the music other people love and I've added so many songs to my music collection thanks to blogs, so hopefully if you like music you'll enjoy these posts too.

After the last song I shared (read the post here) I thought I'd spare you more of the same, and share a song from my favorite band James.

Now depending on your age and where you live you'll either know James or you won't, James have been around since the early 80's and are still going strong today, in the UK their biggest hit was Sit Down, in the US they're known for Laid which was used in the American Pie films, and in places like Portugal Getting Away With It was a hit.

I've been a fan since 1991 and have seen them on tour so many times, they are seriously the best live band I've ever seen, if they're touring near you go see them, you really won't regret it. So the song I'm gonna share with you is She's A Star, it was the lead single from the Whiplash album in 1997.

Snap Crackle and Pop! Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good

Hey, I wanted to do something a little silly for today's post, so please bear with me, normal service will be resumed in the next post. :-)

I love seeing posts about peoples passions away from nail polish, and I thought I'd share one of my passions with you, although it could completely back fire on me and you'll never read my blog again!

So one of my passions is music, I have a huge vinyl record collection that covers everything from rock 'n' roll, disco, jazz, ska, punk, dance, indie, pop, and everything inbetween. I really love pop music the most, I am so uncool, but I don't care! I grew up listening to pop, my Dad always listened to the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Oliva Newton John amongst others, so it was in my blood. By the time I was 13 I was listening to dance and indie music and there was a period where pop didn't get a look in when I was a fully fledged indie kid, but as I've got older I've found that nothing makes me happier than a good dose of 100% pop.

Being a record collector from a young age I gathered some rather odd records, by some odd people, I love finding out what peoples guilty secrets are, and I thought it'd be a laugh to share one of mine. This song is a classic, you'll either thinks it's amazing or you'll say wtf is she thinking!

Kylie Minogue's Anti-tour -Whoohoo I got a ticket!

Today I got tickets for what could be one of the best gigs of my life, and I can't tell you how excited I am!

Kylie Minogue is celebrating 25 years in the music business and as a gift to her hard core fans she's doing a series of small intimate tours. She's called it the Anti-tour as it's the polar opposite of what a Kylie gig would normally be, there'll be no big arenas, no dancers, no big projection screens, and most importantly no big hits. The whole tour will be stripped down to just Kylie and her band. She's singing songs that only fans will know, like B-sides, album tracks, and unreleased demos that got leaked, she's also been singing a couple of her singles but they're ones she hasn't performed in decades. It's possibly the coolest tour she'll ever do and I'm so excited that I'm going!

I'm a massive Kylie fan, I have been since I was little when I should be so lucky came out. I've followed all the twists and turns of her career, and as she was growing up and discovering who she was so was I. It's not been easy being a Kylie fan, for years I was mocked for being fan, usually by people that think they know about music but are actually just into whatever they're told is cool. But, I didn't let them get to me, I love her music, there's so much joy in her songs and her ballads are stunning, especially the unreleased but leaked tracks. There's a few songs I don't like, but overall there are so many songs I love it's hard to pick an ultimate favorite.
