Snap Crackle and Pop! Fuzzbox - International Rescue

Here's something a bit different today, it's a Snap, Crackle and Pop! post.

I want to share a bit of music from my youth, now I wasn't one of the cool kids, I was awkward and shy and I didn't have many friends, and so my musicial tastes weren't influenced by anyone I knew, I just listened to the radio and went into town on saturdays with my pocket money and bought whatever I liked. This resulted in me having a really eclectic record collection, going from cheesy pop, to Indie to rap, if I liked the song I didn't care who it was by and if it was cool or not.

The songs I want to share with you today are from 1989 and they're by a band called Fuzzbox (or as they were also known We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It). Fuzzbox were a UK band that only released a few albums and then spilt up.

Their biggest hit was International Rescue, which is as quirky as you can get, I loved the video and even though I hadn't watched it for years it was still filed away in my memory, and it really wasn't much different to how I remembered it.

Snap Crackle and Pop! James - She's A Star

I've decided that on wednesdays I'm going to do Snap Crackle and Pop! posts, it's just an excuse for me to share my sometimes dreadful music taste with you, I love reading about the music other people love and I've added so many songs to my music collection thanks to blogs, so hopefully if you like music you'll enjoy these posts too.

After the last song I shared (read the post here) I thought I'd spare you more of the same, and share a song from my favorite band James.

Now depending on your age and where you live you'll either know James or you won't, James have been around since the early 80's and are still going strong today, in the UK their biggest hit was Sit Down, in the US they're known for Laid which was used in the American Pie films, and in places like Portugal Getting Away With It was a hit.

I've been a fan since 1991 and have seen them on tour so many times, they are seriously the best live band I've ever seen, if they're touring near you go see them, you really won't regret it. So the song I'm gonna share with you is She's A Star, it was the lead single from the Whiplash album in 1997.

Snap Crackle and Pop! Stefan Dennis - Don't It Make You Feel Good

Hey, I wanted to do something a little silly for today's post, so please bear with me, normal service will be resumed in the next post. :-)

I love seeing posts about peoples passions away from nail polish, and I thought I'd share one of my passions with you, although it could completely back fire on me and you'll never read my blog again!

So one of my passions is music, I have a huge vinyl record collection that covers everything from rock 'n' roll, disco, jazz, ska, punk, dance, indie, pop, and everything inbetween. I really love pop music the most, I am so uncool, but I don't care! I grew up listening to pop, my Dad always listened to the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Oliva Newton John amongst others, so it was in my blood. By the time I was 13 I was listening to dance and indie music and there was a period where pop didn't get a look in when I was a fully fledged indie kid, but as I've got older I've found that nothing makes me happier than a good dose of 100% pop.

Being a record collector from a young age I gathered some rather odd records, by some odd people, I love finding out what peoples guilty secrets are, and I thought it'd be a laugh to share one of mine. This song is a classic, you'll either thinks it's amazing or you'll say wtf is she thinking!
