June's Nail Polish Haul
I was really good this month, compared to most months I hardly bought a thing!
I got some polish this month that I was seriously happy to have. Being a vintage polish lover and a massive fan of Revlon I've always wished I could find some really old bottles, well I spotted an auction on ebay with three old Revlons, they cost me £30 for the three, but I thought that was a bargain, especially when they're all still liquid and useable. They'll get their own post as they're so cool.
As well as the old Revlons, I got some Sally Hansens, L'Oreal's, a Nails Inc, and a joblot of really old make-up off ebay with some dried up Cutex and Nailcote polish and other bits, which also deserve their own post. Anyway enough yapping, here are the photos of this months haul...

April's Nail Polish Haul
Hi guys,
I'm so excited with this months haul, I've had the most amazing luck with crossing some long time lemmings off my list, and I also found a Revlon Zing polish to add to the list of Euro Zings that Revlon produced (see my Zing collection here). It was my birthday in April and my lovely fella took me polish shopping and helped me pick out some of the W7's and I was given the Topshop's as well.
The lovely market stall in my town is closing so I grabbed a load of their W7's while I could, I'll miss that little stall, I got some real gems from there in the past.
Anyway, enough waffling, here's the piccy's of my haul.

My Revlon Zing Collection
Happy Birthday to me, today I'm celebrating being another year older,
I plan to play pinball in a localish pub, if the pinball machine is
still there. I really love pinball and would love to have my own one
day, but for now I'll be happy with any old pinball fix. :-)
As it's my birthday I thought I'd feature my favorite nail polish brand Revlon with one of their most amazing collections, the Color Zing Collection from 2000. When I started getting into polish the Zings went straight to the top of my wishlist, duochromes are my favorite polishes so it was no surprise that I fell head over heels for them. I wouldn't have known about them if it wasn't for Kaz and her posts about them on her Pretty Random blog (see her wonderful swatches here), if you love vintage polish you really should check out her blog, but be warned your wishlist will get bigger. :-)
There is two Zing collections, the black capped ones which are from the US, and the gold capped ones from the UK and EU. Below are the photos of the ones in my collection.

Duochrome Vintage Vault - Maybelline Aqua aka Awesomeness!!!
Right, I'm going to start off by saying sorry for creating your latest lemming, because after you've seen this baby it'll be all you can think about, seriously, I'm not kidding, this has to be one of the coolest polishes ever!
This is one polish that I'm really excited to share with you because I've not found anything else like it, and this polish was my number one find of 2012, it pretty much blew my mind when I first wore it.
Aqua was an innocent looking polish going off the ebay seller's photo, what tipped me off though was another sellers photo of the same polish that looked completely different. Both photos were dreadful, so I thought for £2.50 I'd take a chance and see what turns up, it looked like it could be a bog standard torquoise shimmer that every polish company has put out, but boy, this turned out to be one hell of a kick ass duochrome! If you like green and blue polish and love duochromes, be prepared to wet your pants! :-D

Duochrome Vintage Vault - L'Oreal Holographic Shine 807
Hi guys! Yesterday was a big day for me, I had my Bus driving theory and harzard tests, I had to pass them so I can start to learn to drive an actual bus, then I can start work and have more money to spend on polish, anyway, I passed the tests with flying colours so I'm pretty happy.
Right, back to business, I promised you vintage duochromes this week so here's another one, it's L'Oreal Holographic Shine 807.
This is probably one of my most unusal duochromes, it has a brown base, with duochrome particles that turn the polish from green with brown edges, to pink, and when the light doesn't catch the shimmer it shows brown. I found it at my local market stall in a basket of old polishes, I found some real jems in that basket and over time I picked it clean. :-)
There are a few in the Holographic Shine range, I've managed to get two so far but I really want the whole set, also what is it with duochromes being called holographic? They are such different beasts I don't know how polish brands get them confused.

Duochrome Vintage Vault - Sally Hansen Bright Metal
Sally Hansen is the queen of duochromes, there is no doubting that, and when I have a full set of Prisms I'll be a very happy girl indeed. But Sally didn't save her duochrome pigment for just the Prisms, oh no, she went and created Star and Fire Opals, and the HD's and the LustreShines, so when it comes to duochrome goodness Sally's your girl.
Now with us polish girls loving our duochromes you would think every Sally Hansen duochrome would be on a blog some where, well I can't find today's polish mentioned anywhere, which is weird, because this polish is great and deserves to be oggled at by lusty nail polish addicts. :-)
Let me introduce you to Bright Metal from the Hard As Nails with Nylon range, I have no idea when this polish was released, or where, but what I do know is that I paid £1 for it from the poundshop, which is a bargain and somewhat amazing.:-)
Right enough waffling, time for the polish to do the talking, but be warned there's loads of photos as I wanted to you show the many sides to this polish...

Duochrome Vintage Vault - L'oreal Jet-Set 026
I love duochromes, I really can't get enough of them, there's just something special about having a polish on my nails that is more than one colour, it's like magic on my nails.
Since I started collecting polish just over a year ago I've gained a lot of duochromes, there are so many out there that I'm still lusting after by either more expensive or non UK brands, but I don't mind not having them too much because I have some awesome ones that I've got dirt cheap through ebay, pound shops and my local market and are probably alot rarer.
This week I thought I'd show you polishes that I couldn't find any swatches or any mention of, and I hope you'll like what you see.
Today's polish is L'Oreal 026. I didn't know L'Oreal had done any duochromes in the old Jet-Set line, so I was happy to find this, the sellers photos were dreadful, so when it arrived I was waving it at my boyfriend saying "it's a duochrome!", needless to say he wasn't as impressed as me. :-)
Get ready for some photo spam...

Vintage Vault - Sally Hansen Prisms - White Turquoise
Today's post is one I've held of posting because I wasn't 100% sure what the name of the polish was, but after a bit of research I'm now happy to think I've got the name right.
Today's post features a sexy layering combo, now we all know and love Sally Hansen's Prisms, but there are a few that look boring in the bottle and on the nail are sheer and not so exciting, but thankfully layering them brings out all the lovely duochrome goodness that we know and love.
On the day I took these photos I'd tried an old Revlon called Drama, the post for it is here, it's a darkish purple. I thought I'd try layering something over it. I grabbed a un-named Prism and tried it, with one coat it was really nice, but with two it was just simply amazing. The polish looked alot like south sea pearl in the bottle so I thought that might be what it was, but I was wrong, this is much sheerer and I think it's actually called White Turquoise, if anyone can confirm that'd be great.
So here's Revlon Drama layered with two coats of Sally Hansen White Turquoise, prepare to fall in love. :-)

Dupes? Rimmel - Gold Save The Queen Vs Miss Sporty - 010 Beetle Wings
Hi guys, well it's still snowing, I've lost count of how many days the snow's been here for now. I've had to reschedule my bus driving theory test, the test centre isn't near me, I have to go on the motorway and in this weather I believe that if you don't need to add to the traffic on the roads stay at home. I actually enjoy driving in these conditions, but I know it'd be just my luck to get stuck behind an accident or something. Hopefully next week will be better. Anyway, enough waffling about me, how about some polish talk instead?
Being a Rimmel collector I have been waiting years for them to bring out some duochromes again, Zeitgeist and Mania were among the first polishes I ever bought when I was younger and I've cherished them ever since (even though they've turned into a gloppy mess) so I was excited to see their Metal Rush range. But duochromes seem to be like buses you wait for one and then they all turn up, as along with Rimmel, Miss Sporty decided it was time for them to give us some duochromey goodness in the shape of their Metal Flip range.
Now anyone in the UK will no doubt have noticed that two polishes from both brands are very alike and I thought it might be useful to check for dupes as one brand is half the price of the other.
So without further ado, here is Rimmels Gold Save the Queen up against Miss Sporty 010 aka Beetle Wings.

Vintage Vault - Sally Hansen - Twinkle
I'm back after all the christmas fun, I had a lovely christmas, I had plenty of good food, and lots of lovely presents, my boyfriend amazed me by getting me a boxset by my favorite band James with a signed print, I'd ordered one myself, but had to cancel it as money was tight and I wanted to spend it on presents for him and my family instead, I couldn't believe it when I unwrapped it, and was so excited that he'd somehow managed to get a signed print, I can't wait to frame it and put it on my wall. I hope you all had a great christmas too with your family and friends.
Right, enough waffling, onto the polish, I've been waiting for the perfect time to wear todays polish and Christmas time and new year is it, especially as todays polish is a vintage Sally Hansen Christmas polish. :-)
I picked up Twinkle in a joblot from ebay (I posted about it here), out of all of the polishes in the lot it was the one I was most excited about getting as it's so pretty. Twinkle is a clear base (although mine's a little milky) with the most amazing irridescent and multichrome bar glitter that flashes gold, green, blue and purple, it's also got small glitter that flashes gold. This polish really is the bee's knee's.

November's Nail Polish Haul. :-)
Today we're going to have some bottle spam as I'm feeling lazy, and it's getting hard to do swatches as the light in my house is so bad now it's getting dark really early.
I sold a few old things on ebay last month so I treated myself, my lovely boyfriend got me a couple of things too, isn't he a sweetie. I hadn't got much polish for a few months, so I think I went a little crazy. :-)
Here's pics of my haul, be warned there's a lot!

Max Factor Fantasy Fire vs Urban Decay Burnout
Hi guys, today I've got a comparision post for you. I've seen so many people blog about Fantasy Fire by Max Factor, so I held off posting about it for a while. I actually saw Fantasy Fire in Boots on the day of release, and I didn't have any spare cash to buy it that day, needless to say I was kicking myself for weeks as after that day I didn't see another bottle on the shelves for three weeks, so when I did see it I jumped on it, and took advantage of a three for two offer and got three bottles!
Anyway, I've seen comparisons with Clarins 230, aswell as Urban Decay's Toxic, I don't have either even I'd love to have them so I had a look in my stash to see if I could find anything like it. What I found was Urban Decay's Burnout
Here are the bottles of polish I've used for this post.
Here's some close ups of that lovely colour changing shimmer.

Nail Mail - Maybelline Haul
Hey guys, I've got nail mail to show you!
I might've spent a few penny's on ebay lately, today I'm gonna show you the vintage Maybellines I got. Get ready for some photo spam. :-)
These four were a joblot, I really only really wanted Electric Apple and Racing Green, but I think that Flamboyant Coral and Rich Plum will be nice, and I can't believe how bright Flamboyant Coral is, people will see me coming when I use that one....

7 Shades Of Blue - Day 6 - Barry M 287 Aqua Blue
Hey,
I thought we'd have something a little lighter after the richness of yesterdays L'Oreal, so todays shade of blue is Barry M's 287, also known as Aqua Blue.

This was another ebay find, it's one of the older Barry M's in the rounder bottles, I have to say I much prefer the modern bottles, much more sexy. :-) Anyway, let's get onto the polish...

Accessorize - Pink Spice Duochrome - Nail Polish Review
Hey guys,
I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far, Mine's been cool, I've been watching Formula 1, it's the first race of the season and it looks like my favorite team might do a lot better than they did last year, I love Williams by the way, just in case you're interested.
Anyway, todays a nail post, I'm a bit behind with my posts, this nail polish is what I was wearing just over a week ago.
Say hello to a very beautiful duochrome.

Accessorize - Pink Spice |
It's not the greatest bottle shot I'm afraid, the light in my house is dreadful and it's hard to find good light to take photos with.
Accessorize Pink Spice is a pink to orange duochrome, and is from Accessorize's Illusion collection. It's a glitter based polish and is wonderful and bright. I've had this for a while now, I got all the Accessorize duochromes in one go last year when I first started collecting nail polish, but because it was pink I put off wearing it, well that was a bit silly of me as I really like this polish and I couldn't stop looking at my nails.
