Duochrome Vintage Vault - Maybelline Aqua aka Awesomeness!!!

Right, I'm going to start off by saying sorry for creating your latest lemming, because after you've seen this baby it'll be all you can think about, seriously, I'm not kidding, this has to be one of the coolest polishes ever!

This is one polish that I'm really excited to share with you because I've not found anything else like it, and this polish was my number one find of 2012, it pretty much blew my mind when I first wore it.

Aqua was an innocent looking polish going off the ebay seller's photo, what tipped me off though was another sellers photo of the same polish that looked completely different. Both photos were dreadful, so I thought for £2.50 I'd take a chance and see what turns up, it looked like it could be a bog standard torquoise shimmer that every polish company has put out, but boy, this turned out to be one hell of a kick ass duochrome! If you like green and blue polish and love duochromes, be prepared to wet your pants! :-D

Did you wet your pants? I would've if I'd seen that for the first time! :-)

Aqua is a clear base, with bright green to blue/indigo duochrome shimmer in it, to add to that Maybelline also thought that a matte/satin finish would make this polish even cooler. On it's own you'd need 20 coats to make it opaque, but if you layer it over black it's goodness shows through with just one coat (I did two for the photos as I knocked a nail). The matt/satin finish really tops this polish off, I like that it's so unusal, I mean how often do you come across a laying polish that's a duochrome and has a matte/satin finish, I would've loved to be a fly on the wall when they came up with this one, I wonder if they knew that years later this girl would be wetting her pants with excitment over this little bottle of polish?

So to sum it up the duochrome is ace, it shows both green and blue at the same time and several shades of both, it's got a matte/satin finish, and of course you can add a top coat to make it shiny, basically this polish rocks in every possible way and it's just completely amazing.

So what do you think of Aqua (what a boring name for such a cool polish), has it made it onto your wishlists?

Cheerio for now,

Heather. :-)

    1. I knew you'd love it! I did look on ebay UK before I posted but there isn't any right now, if I see a bottle it's yours. :-) Thanks for the thumbs up for the swatching, this was from the last lot I did before I had everything stolen at the weekend, so happy I'd put the photos on my usb stick, they're my favorite swatch photos that I've done so far. :-)
