Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Delphinium

Just a quick note - I've had the images from these posts stolen and used by sellers on ebay without my permission so I've been forced to put my blog address over them, sorry about that. :-(

Today's polish is Sally Hansen's Delphinium and it's the last of my Complete Manicur posts. Again, this is a polish I've got just to try as it's not the type of colour I'd normally go for, I think in my collection the finish I've got least of is cremes, so it's nice to have something a little different on my nails.

Delphinium is a grey toned lilac creme, just like the other Sally Hansens I've swatched this week it was a breeze to apply, the polish is creamy in texture, I wish all polish was like it, as it made it really easy to control. I didn't think I'd be all that bothered about this colour, but I really fell in love with it, it's really pretty, and it's rather classy looking.

To make it look a bit less classy I added some glitter.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Model Behavior

Just a quick note - I've had the images from these posts stolen and used by sellers on ebay without my permission so I've been forced to put my blog address over them, sorry about that. :-(

This is the second from last of my Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure posts, I've enjoyed swatching these, as they've been lovely to use. I'll get more of them if i see them cheap, and if I see a colour I really like I might even pay full price.

Today the polish of choice is Model Behavior.

How amazing is that blue! As far as I'm concerned this is the perfect blue creme, not too light, not too dark, and a dream to apply. What I've loved about the polishes I've swatched this week is how nice they are to use, the formula's great, and I really liked the wide flat brush once I got used to it. Even though I only paid £1 each for these I would happily pay more for them as the quality is great and I never though I'd fall in love with creme polishes.

As I was having fun swatching, I couldn't help but add some glitter, I had a few in mind that I thought would be cool, but I went for an in your face combo as I was feeling adventurous.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Paparazzi & Strike A Pose

Just a quick note - I've had the images from these posts stolen and used by sellers on ebay without my permission so I've been forced to put my blog address over them, sorry about that. :-(

Today I've two Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes to show you, both of these were bargains from the Pound Shop. They're not the type of colours I'd go for normally but for £1 it was worth giving them a go, and I figured if I don't like them I can use them to franken with.

First up is Paparazzi.

Paparazzi is a funny colour, I'm not sure how to describe it, but I'd say it's a sheerish dirty green tinted silver. I think if this was just silver I'd like it, but I just can't get on with the dirty colour of it, plus I felt it looked like a colour a granny would wear (no offence to granny's, I've seen some granny's wearing some awesome nail polish). One thing in it's defence, it went on really nicely, this was three coats and it dried pretty quick. This polish has one of those wide and flat brushes, I'd not used one before, but it was nice to use, and did make painting my nails a much quicker job.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Eel Skin

Just a quick note - I've had the images from these posts stolen and used by sellers on ebay without my permission so I've been forced to put my blog address over them, sorry about that. :-(

The other week I got some Sally Hansen Complete Manicure nail polishes so I thought I'd swatch them all and do a post about them each day this week.
Unfortunately I got a bad spilt on my index finger nail, but luckily I'd read about using glue and teabags to patch it up, so that's what I did. I hate that nail, it twists away from my other nails, and it's a different shape, but hey ho, that's life, there are bigger things to worry about!

So today I've got Eel Skin to show you.

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure Eel Skin Swatch

Eel Skin is a lovely mid grey creme. I'm so happy I got this as I've got a few grey cremes but they're too thin and streaky, this stuff went on beautifully and levelled out nice too. In the photo I used three coats, but you could get away with two as it covers well, the polish dries darker than it shows in the bottle, but it's not too much darker. If you want a nice grey, I can definitely recommend Eel Skin, plus it's got such  cool name, what's not to love?

Kylie Minogue's Anti-tour -Whoohoo I got a ticket!

Today I got tickets for what could be one of the best gigs of my life, and I can't tell you how excited I am!

Kylie Minogue is celebrating 25 years in the music business and as a gift to her hard core fans she's doing a series of small intimate tours. She's called it the Anti-tour as it's the polar opposite of what a Kylie gig would normally be, there'll be no big arenas, no dancers, no big projection screens, and most importantly no big hits. The whole tour will be stripped down to just Kylie and her band. She's singing songs that only fans will know, like B-sides, album tracks, and unreleased demos that got leaked, she's also been singing a couple of her singles but they're ones she hasn't performed in decades. It's possibly the coolest tour she'll ever do and I'm so excited that I'm going!

I'm a massive Kylie fan, I have been since I was little when I should be so lucky came out. I've followed all the twists and turns of her career, and as she was growing up and discovering who she was so was I. It's not been easy being a Kylie fan, for years I was mocked for being fan, usually by people that think they know about music but are actually just into whatever they're told is cool. But, I didn't let them get to me, I love her music, there's so much joy in her songs and her ballads are stunning, especially the unreleased but leaked tracks. There's a few songs I don't like, but overall there are so many songs I love it's hard to pick an ultimate favorite.

Another Nail Polish Haul

Hey,

I got some new polish while I was in town yesterday, so I thought I'd share my goodies with you.
I got loads of stuff I'm really happy with and best of all the most I paid for a polish was £1!
Get ready for some photo spam. :-)

Sally Hansen Paparazzi & Strike A Pose
Sally Hansen Model Behavior, Eel Skin & Delphinium
The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure's were all £1 from the pound shop, I'm really happy with getting Model Behavior, it looks like the perfect blue, Delphinium isn't the kind of colour I'd pay full price for, but I'm really intrigued by it, I've not got many muted colours so it'll be interesting to see if I like it on my nails.

Green fingers in March

Now the weather's getting warmer I've started doing stuff in the garden again, I really want to have it looking like a proper garden rather than just mud and weeds by the summer.

Before Christmas I'd started getting rid of the weeds, it's such a large area so I'm doing small bits at a time, I'd turned the soil over where I wanted borders, and then put weed fabric down to keep that bit weed free. The fabric seems to have done the job, there's only a few small weeds growing under it so I'm happy about that.

I sat and drew an aerial view of what I'd like the garden to look like once every thing's grown, there's going to be an area that's surrounded by climbing plants that will have a bench, it'll be a garden within a garden full of scented flowers. The rest of the garden will have borders either side that nearly meet in the middle of the garden and then open up to reveal more space which will have a bench and a pond for wildlife.

My doodle of what I'd like my garden to look like

I've never had a garden before so it's really exciting to start from scratch, but also very daunting as I'm having to learn as I go along. One thing I really love is getting plants for free, I love taking cuttings of plants and watching them grow, as I've got no money to spend on the garden getting anything for free is great. Luckily last year my boyfriend and I got quite a few plants from garden centres, most of them were reduced as they were a bit dead, but I've nursed most of them back to life.

Revlon Radiant & China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara - Nail Polish Review

I thought I'd have some bling on my nails so I decided some glitter was in order.

The polishes I picked were Revlon's Radiant and China Glaze's Lorelei's Tiara. I love Revlon and was really happy to see that some of the US range had made it's way to the UK and Radiant was one of them. My bottle of Radiant is from the US, and I think it the glitter is slightly different to the UK version, the UK glitter seems slightly curved where as the US glitter is flat, the colours the same, so the only difference between the two should be the UK needing extra top coat to smooth it out.

Revlon Radiant & China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara Bottles
I thought these two would look good together both have blue and silver in them, I hadn't done an accent nail before but I thought it looked really cool, although my boyfriend wasn't impressed by it!

Nail Mail From America

I got the best parcel yesterday, it contains 5 Revlon polishes from the US, one of which the ebay seller included for free, which was such a lovely thing for her to do.

Now, I really love Revlons, and really hate that The US get so many cool Revlon polishes that I can only get via ebay, but some are so pretty I just had to get them, luckily I found a lovely seller, and hopefully she'll be finding me more polish to buy in the future.

Anyway, here's some photos of my goodies.

Accessorize - Pink Spice Duochrome - Nail Polish Review

Hey guys,

I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far, Mine's been cool, I've been watching Formula 1, it's the first race of the season and it looks like my favorite team might do a lot better than they did last year, I love Williams by the way, just in case you're interested.

Anyway, todays a nail post, I'm a bit behind with my posts, this nail polish is what I was wearing just over a week ago.

Say hello to a very beautiful duochrome.

Accessorize - Pink Spice
It's not the greatest bottle shot I'm afraid, the light in my house is dreadful and it's hard to find good light to take photos with.

Accessorize Pink Spice is a pink to orange duochrome, and is from Accessorize's Illusion collection. It's a glitter based polish and is wonderful and bright. I've had this for a while now, I got all the Accessorize duochromes in one go last year when I first started collecting nail polish, but because it was pink I put off wearing it, well that was a bit silly of me as I really like this polish and I couldn't stop looking at my nails.

Where To Find Cheap Nail Polish

Hi guys,

Whoops, I haven't got round to blogging for ages, I'm back now though. :-)

Today I wanted to talk about the nail polish you can get cheap in the UK if you know where to look.

I'm on a budget as I'm still paying off what I spent on my Masters degree and I'm unemployed, it sucks being skint, but I'm selling stuff on ebay so I can treat myself every now and then.

Now I love seeing all those high end polishes on other peoples blogs, and I'd love to own some one day, but I get my kicks by bargain hunting instead, so instead of £20 for one bottle of Chanel I can get up to twenty bottles instead, just by knowing where to go.

So, where do I go to get my polish fix I hear you ask, well it's a case of finding all the pound (or 99p) shops in your area and checking them out. I have got some great polish from pound shops and it seems most are polishes that are disscountinued. The brands I've found are Me,Me,Me, Rimmel, Maybelline, Revlon and Sally Hansen, Astor, and many more.
